There is a small RV park right on top of Raton Pass that we have also stayed at. Great view up there. Used to be called Cedar Rail RV Park, but now named Raton Pass Camp and Cafe. Would stay there again also. Good for overnighting as it is not close to anything else.
x2 on the the Raton Pass Camp & Cafe. We stopped there this yr. on our way to South Fork. Great views, nice people, easy in & out. We've also stayed at Dalhart. Just be aware there's a 13'6" (or 7") clearance overpass you'll have to go under & there's no way around it if you're taking 87 to NM (Raton)
