Dark front end cap owners

Kind of like a new black truck. They look good on the showroom floor but give it a few years with no care and itll look like hell.

Just curious why you switched from a Landmark to a Montana. I would consider that a step down, but wondered if you had problems with the LAndmark.

I have a faded dark brown front cap. When I get it painted this season I'm repainting it the lighter creamy white/tan color like the sides. I think the dark brown color really makes it hot up front.
I would look for a dark PAINTED cap only. But 1st I'd look for a lighter color.

Ours will be 2 years old next month. The painted front cap shows no signs of fading or decal degradation so far.

Yes, fading of dark front end caps on trailers is a serious problem and not limited to one brand. Northwood Arctic Fox trailers have had the same issue even after meticulously polishing and waxing their rigs. Some owners have resorted to having their front caps painted, after market and at their own expense, of course.

Ask the dealer if the front and rear caps are either color infused gelcoat , or painted and clear coated.. IF they are painted and cleared, you are better off than the other..

If they are color infused gelcoat, you will have to really stay on top of them with wax in hopes to keep them from fading...

Fading is my 2nd worry. Living in AZ, I'm a =lot= more concerned about heat transfer.

Friend of mine had to have his Jayco 5th wheel front cap repainted in less than a year. Dealer did it under warranty

If they are dark tinted gel coat, there have been fading problems. If they are dark painted, I don't think there has been a problem.
