Ridiculous price! What a rip off!
I ran 4 wires thru the basement of our Carriage 5th wheel for example, all the way from the front lower storage compartment to the rear wall. less that 2 hours total to completion and well secured and also hidden. Two 14ga 3 conductor romex for 2 added circuits from the front lower compartment mounted 2500 watt inverter as that's where the big battery bank I'd added is back to the duplex outlets I'd had added in the rear kitchen area of the 5th wheel. One 14 ga (15 amp) SJT extension cord to the electric fireplace I'd added in the livingroom. One 12 ga (20 amp) SJT extension cord that goes from the rear bumper mounted Honda EU2000 generator to the front transfer switch. So simple!
My other option would have been to run wires inside plastic PVC water pipe tubing and attach to the frame rails under the belly but it wasn't necessary as going thru the basement was so much easier and quicker and I don't have to worry about them or the PVC falling down over time.
The dealer should be smarter than to look so dumb and turn off a customer with a crazy high price quote.
One wire running the length of you 40' RV shouldn't take over an hour at most and is so easy to do.
I've added wiring and circuits to several of our RV's over the years and it's not hard at all. Especially if you think first and take your time to find and do it the best and easist way before you even start drilling or cutting holes.
$771 for a $15 and hour person taking 6 hours to muck up and easy task sure doesn't make much sense! However, there's a new sucker born every day!
