Dealer quoted $700 to run wire for backup cam, Need Advise

I think the bid was 4 hours to read the manual and 2 hours to actually do the work. Have you ever met the "service" people? They earn $15 an hour if lucky... not the cream of the crop for mechanical enginuity.
