deciding on a new 5ver

Montana is the number one seller. I have owned 3 then switched to a high dollar 2013 Landmark Full Body Paint which I ordered and had all kinds of problems out of it. Just went back to a Montana that we ordered and there is no comparison

Ya can't go wrong with any of the Grand Design RV's.. I'm on my 3rd 5th wheel, a GD Solitude 369RL. Two years old this month, and couldn't be happier with our decision. It is by far the nicest one yet..

Rather than buy a new mid market 5er for the $50Ks why not get a lightly used upper market 5er for the $50Ks?

A DRV, a Carriage, there are others, which cost the original owner well over $75K can be had for the $50s. The first owner has taken the big depreciation hit & has had all of the new unit bugs worked out of it. With some luck & time you can find just what you want lightly used.

Thanks y'all for your info. Poppy, good to know you chose a 337 for your 6th 5ers. We want to be sure we make a good choice cause we want to keep this one. Ken, will take your advice into consideration bout a used one but the used ones we've seen are well used :)

What every anyone owns is generally the absolute best. The trailers you are looking at are in general considered entry level 5th wheel units. Pick a dealer that has a good reputation in your area.

Next, make sure the truck you have or will get, has sufficient GVWR and GAWR to carry the pin weight of a fully loaded trailer. DO NOT use the dry weights published by the RV manufacturers.

You can get a much better deal on a gently used 3 to 5 year old higher end trailer and be better off financially than an entry level new trailer.

Find the floorplan that works for you and make your best deal. I can't say that one manufacturer is better than another as they all have the potential to have issues.

Look at Cedar Creek also I guess. Lots of bang for the buck, and good overall quality

I have a 2003 dodge 3500 dually so the truck isn't the issue. we liked to get into one for around the 50's, so I'm sure there are other brands we can consider. we like the construction on the grand designs, its our first choice.

Cost is really one consideration. Tow vehicle is another one.
What is your budget?
How much truck do you have? Hopefully more than the obligitory 2500 series crew cab hauling a family of four around.
