Decrease Angle on the back door

Hello

I have a 2001 Toy Hauler that sits pretty high. When I load my 2011 Ultra Guide, the bike hits bottom as I get to the top of the ramp and enter the trailer - a bit scary with a 900 lbs bike! Getting the bike out is also a real chore!
.
I need to figure out a way to decrease the angle the ramp site at. Not always convenient to find a small hill to off load on!
.
I have considered bracing the ramp up off the ground and then using a 4-foot ramp I have.
.
I'm looking for any other ideas.....

Thanks!
  • Can you rework the rear suspension to include Airshocks? Lower the back end decrease the ramp angle.....
  • If your toy hauler is attached to the truck when you are loading, you can drive the rear wheels of the TV on ramps or blocks to lessen the the rear ramp angle of the TH.
  • Raising the tongue/front lowers the rear and reduces the angle.

Other option is extensions on the ramp.
  • I have used 2x10's to block up the rear end and make a little ramp like posted in the second post above. Worked ok.
  • I had the same problem with my goldwing. What I did was put 2 6x6s under the rubber stoppers of the rear gate. I bought a tri fold aluminum ramp and extended the ramp. Works for me. PS I also use a strap to hold the ramp to the gate so it don't kick out, just a little more safer. Good luck.
  • I added a couple of extension ramps from Pit Products to my trailer door. They attach permanently to it and just fold out when you lower the door. I think I have about a 4" lift to the end of the door.

    Here's their web site:
