The Cummins has twice the amount of TQ as the 6.4 Hemi. 16400 lbs your going to need some torque :W
Alan (the OP):
I have what "45Ricochet" has.
Had I been better informed at the time when I bought my new pickup (1T diesel LDT)......I would have "by-passed" pickups, and MDTs,
and gone straight to an HDT.
The numbers quoted by "45Ricochet" are minuscule by comparison.
Try 475-500 hp & 1650 ft/lb - std or auto trans!
Ditto the towing ability/capacity of an HDT - at *WAY*, way less than the cost of a new pickup.
("No replacement for displacement")
B-50 numbers are available for all the HDT engines - Cummins, Detroit, CAT, Volvo.
*Expect* a million miles.
Here's a forum & threads to look at:
Escapees HDT forum"Newbie" - HDT towing questions"Longevity" addressed in post #10And a *gal* asks......
"HDT vs MDT vs LDT vs Diesel, vs tractor"Oh yeah - no need to double tow the car...A Smart fits nicely on the deck - sideways...:C
