Used is a good option. I bought my current 3500 Long-bed Diesel/Allison (Crew Cab; 4x4) three years old with only 35,000 miles on it for just more than half of original list.
The first owner finally decided he didn't use it enough to make it worth the upkeep. I guess he didn't want to pay for the required 50K mile maintenance. I contacted the Chevy dealer who originally sold it and he called me back. Nice guy, I guess. The diesel wasn't even broken in good and it had depreciated almost $8,000 a year.
