I did want the generator prep; it lists on the web site for $464. But the retail is actually over $700, so I nixed that one. What will I be missing just plugging the shoreline into a portable gen?

Eric,
We went with 2 portable Honda 2000i gennies the last 3 years with our old fiver and after about 2 years we made a point of making sure we got a built-in gennie if we ever got a new fiver. After having to put each of the gennies in the back of the truck, lock them up, and then having to go outside to either start ot stop them (especially first thing in the morning) we went with the built-in Onan Marquis Gold 5500 gas gennie on the Designer and it has turned into a great thing. Wake up in the morning and just push a button and we have power to run both A/C's with power to spare...nice to have in our opinion!
