I can tell you that won't do anything, especially if it worked when you plugged it into an extension cord and it worked.
If you can't get to the junction, check the outlets on the same wall as the fridge but to the rear. A couple of them should also be feed from the fridge plug "upstream". Maybe where the air bed is plugged into. If those work it may just be the outlet itself. If they don't you need to work or way back to the breaker hitting the junction box and another split to the street side utility circuit as well.
