- L_MMusicExplorerThe hydrolic lifts are not strong enough to lift our current mattress. Even when the slide is all the way in, the side closest to the bathroom drops a little -- thus, the brace.
- Rob_FlaExplorerOn the 09 Designers they made the dresser at the end of the bed shallower so they do not need the lift up cam on the bed any more.
On the 08 and previous it is the lenght of the bed, the width of the coach and the depth of the dresser, they just ran out of room so Jayco put a cam under to bed to lift it up.
If you look at the 09 the depth of the dresser at the end of the bed has been decreased, so no cam. - loydtExplorerYeah, because the length did not really change, only the width. As a matter of fact, the standard 60x80 queen is an inch or two longer.
- M_GO_BLUE1ExplorerEven after both of you put a new queen size bed on it still has to be lifted to fit when the slide is closed?
- loydtExplorerNot sure why anybody has to brace the bed up while moving? It is locked in place like that pretty good! IIRC, there are two aluminum braces that hold it up, locked into place.
- L_MMusicExplorerWhile moving, we've been wedging the bottom edge of the bed up with a 2x4 for a while now and it handles just fine.

Did you have to put a support under mattress frame to keep it up while traveling? We are looking at a sleep number but I am worried about the weight of it. Thought about taking a 2x4 and using as a brace to support frame.
We have a standard king size sleep number bed at home and decided to take it with us on one of our trips to Oregon. it worked out well and the lift handled it just fine. The ones made for RV's are a little smaller and lighter then the one we have.
I DID have to make the platform a little wider ... and take out the rounded corners at the foot of the platform.
While it was nice having the sleep number bed, we find we are very comfortable in the one that came with the trailer !! Just added an egg crate foam topper we picked up at a fabric shop for $35 and we sleep great !!

We loved our bed too. The problem is that it is wearing out. The sides where we sleep are collapsing in for lack of a better way of explaining it. We have around 100 nights in it so far, but are living in it now until we move back to Tenn. Looking at the Sleep number, but they don't know there is an economic turndown right now, and have not lowered thier price. - M_GO_BLUE1ExplorerYou old farts :) ...we love our bed and it is very comfortable although wife thinks its too big

new spring mattress weighs a TON compared to the cheapie that was on there. I now have to remember to lift the bed by hand before bringing in the slide.
