- CHV_FRKExplorerTonkatoys... I'm another rebelious RLSA owner. We chose ours for similar reasons. The bedroom lays out a little nicer and from what I here the queen bed is the standard now with the king being the option. We also thought the bedroom was a little more private. The more open floor space allows for more friends to crash with us. We love the big back window as well, it allows for great views when you have them.
On the other hand you can count the others here....the RLSA is the clear winner here. I honestly think at this pricepoint it's the number one selling floorplan. With the big tv option and great workspace in the kitchen, it's a really great choice.
On the A/C thing, our bedroom definately dumps into the duct. I can feel the increase when I turn it on. The only think I can tell you to check to make sure you have the best output is to verify that when you cover is on you have a good seal from intake to exhaust side. Some have had to put some weatherstripping in there to help isolate each side. They had what seemed like low output, but the units were freezing up. Anyone here checked their Rxxx? - BReed0715ExplorerOk... So I should close the A/C ducts in the bedroom (since we have the 2nd a/c.) This should help push more air through the other ducts. It's just that I see no noticable difference or increase in air flow when I close the Quick Cool Vents. I will check it again and close all the vents accept the ones in the kitchen area to get more air to the center of the Trailer. I hope this works. Any other input would be greatly appriciated.
- whporwilExplorerTonkatoys Like you we narrowed our choice down to the RLTS and the RLSA the two models your looking at. As an RLSA owner I know I'm out numbered on this post but what you need to do is sit in each one for an extended period of time and make up your own mind. We didn't need the bigger kitchen in the RLTS. I can sit anywhere on my couch and look straight at my television. But I find the couch isn't all that comfortable. I have a big window in back I can look out which is an advantage when parked at the lake. My wife wanted the all in one bathroom. And the RLSA has more room in the living room. I'd like to see the 2009 RLSA with the queen bed in the bed room, there has to be a ton of room in there. For some reason to us the RLSA feels less like a camper and more like a home. As far as pros and cons go there aren't any, there both great campers.
- TravlingmanExplorer IION the wax, I used Mcquires NXt. Use it on all my vehicles and have had good luck. Tried the back cap with ProtectAll to see how it works and lasts.
We chose the 35RLTS(L shaped couch)because you can see TV from everywhere, and the large window by back chairs really opens up the camper. Also liked extra counter space from pull out under cabinet.
We got the 2nd AC from factory in bedroom, and ours is ducted. I am not for sure, but don't think they can duct the AC if it is put on at dealer. Could be wrong though. L - eaherrmannExplorerdeleted
- BReed0715ExplorerI have a question for all of you 35RLTS owners... I live in Texas and it's starting to get warm. I think i'm having problems with my A/C units. My understanding (the same with my previos TT) is that when you close your vents to the A/C unit itself then it will automaticaly push a lot more air through the small round vents throughout the trailer. I feel no difference in air flow. Is this right? Also, are the ducts from the front to the back tied in with both A/C units. So if they are both on it should push even more air through the smaller round vents. I hope you guys have an answer. It's at the dealership right now getting looked at. Thanks in advance for your comments.
- eaherrmannExplorerWe chose the 35RLTS for the floor plan (L couch and rear entertainment ctr)and the private bath. We love this unit and yes, we researched this fith wheel to death. Well built, lots of room, both DW and DH agreed on 90% of it's options, nuff said. RVDirect saved us a few bucks too. Good Luck in your search.
- tonkatoysExplorerlooking for some pros and cons. i see a lot of jayco designer owners here. we are looking at 2 that it has been narrowed down to and can't decide, maybe some here that already own them can shed some pros and cons on either.
one is the new floor plan with the L couch and the entertainment center in the rear and the other is with the rear steps on a angle to the left going up to the bedroom and a all in one bath. any remarks would be appriciated. thanks - eaherrmannExplorerWe used RV wax from camping world. Works OK, easier than the stuff I use on the cars. Think I'm going to have to make this an annual thing. 2 1/2 days to wash and wax (can't believe we had that many BUGS for only 1600 miles). I've informed the DW that we'll only be traveling in the rain from here on out, bugs can't swim :) ;).... This weekend is our first shot at dry camping with this camper, our "up to now" favorite hideaway on the Chesapeake Bay, we'll let y'all know how it turns out and post a pic when we return.
Eric, lot's of luck with your eye surgery. Yes, 46 is a bit young for that type of operation...we're same age and I just got lasik. - cruzExplorerWashed the front half of the 5'r after Country Thunder (got a little muddy). Need to wash the back half now, and then wax it.
What wax did you use?
M GO BLUE - good luck on the surgery.
