I lived on the coast of Fl for 40 years. The salt air is not as bad a people think. Just give it a really good rinse every few weeks, or if you get a lot of mist blowing at you. You will know when that happens by the crusty film it will leave behind. Just being next to the water is not a problem. Boats that are taken care of do quite well exposed to salt air; so can an RV.
