Clearly some coward signed up for a fake newbie identity for the purpose of launching that attack. I seldom find reason to find fault with the moderators, but -in my opinion- in this case they fell short.
A more desirable outcome would be track down the IP address of the fake account and ban the person behind it. I'm not sure this forum has the tools for that.
And certainly that linked thread should have been deleted in its entirety. Other posts have been.
