Check out the Diesel Series of Wallenstein "Gensets".
These are assembled by the Mennonites (near Waterloo)who use good quality engines and generators. They sell through various equipment dealers here in Ontario and USA. No sales from their factory (I was just there last week)

Diesel engine is going to be heavier than gas.
I wonder about the noise level as these are more designed for "onfarm" and construction use.
