Diesel generator for 5th wheels?

I usually see LP generator options for 5th wheels. I also see people recommend portable gas generators as well. How about diesel generators? I would think that since your tow vehicle is powered by diesel, I would think it makes sense to get a diesel generator rather than a gas one?

I couldn't find much info on the diesel generator so far (or at least the use of it in camping environment)
