I've pulled my 15,000lb 40' long TH with both SRW and DRW.
I was right at or a tad over spec'ed load ratings with the 1 TN SRW. But I did it for years. I never liked or had a fuzzy filing with the mushy fill in the rear end of the truck. And hated the thought of a rear tire blow out.
Hands down the DRW is more stable.
The very reason I converted my srw to a drw. Peace of mind. I just did a 3600 mile round trip from Az to Indiana & back. I was in some BAD weather. On the way home I was in Tulsa when all the action started. I fought some hard wind. And some pretty good side wind on the way there. I would have had a nervous breakdown before when it was a srw. But like said before that extra trac width and another set of tires on the road makes a world of diff. I'll never tow with a srw again.
