We did our TT with Kodiak and now we are in the process of switching our 17,000GVWR 5th. Being able to see the condition of the pads, disc leaking seals is worth it to us.
We are going with Dexter disc( these have 2 pistons) brakes and Meritor ABS.
Wow! ABS on a towable RV; that'll be cool. Please be sure to report back on how this works.

Our last fiver weighed 12k lbs and had 6000 lb axles with 12"x2" drum brakes (very large); our current fiver weighs 16k lbs and stops light years better than our last fiver. The response is also much quicker and braking action much smoother as well.
Both systems work flawlessly with the IBC in my Ram. I just changed the setting from "Heavy Electric" to "Heavy Electric over Hydraulic". - LantleyNomad

I had my 2011 Big Country done last year and I love the way it stops now.....we have looked at 3 new 5th wheels and when I asked about disk brakes and getting them installed I got a flat NO.....so they lost a sale. I will never tow another trailer with out them.....
Just one more option that the mfrs refuse to offer, that would generate a lot of sales for them, especially on repeat and experienced buyers. Just like good tires...

THere are a few that have them available now. Disc brakes are a must have for me as well.
Having the factory disc brake option available could easily make or brake the deal on my next rig - GoPackGoExplorerFWIW, my conversion is being done by Performance Trailer Braking and they install the Titan Disc Brake conversion kit, which IS electric over hydraulic.
So if you are considering Titan it should be the same. - LIKE2BUILDExplorer

I am considering changing over to disc brakes on my 2011 36FWS Cameo. I would appreciate any pro's and con's the forum may have.
thanks
Will this be electric over hydraulic? If so, will your brake controller work with that system?
I have no experience with this conversion but just wanted to be sure you've covered all bases.

- GoPackGoExplorerGetting my Bighorn switched over in about 2 weeks.
- LantleyNomadDisc brakes are certainly an improvement and a must have on future RV's.
Disc brakes debunk the myth that the trailers brakes stop the trailer and the truck brakes stop the truck.
After upgrading to disc brakes it becomes obvious that the drum brakes alone are not stopping the trailer.
