Disc Brakes

Brake parts arrived on a pallet, I elected for logistics to pick up from the depot

I also, bough some Timken USA made bearings for this project.

Just ordered my Titan Disk brake kit from Ron...pictures to follow in a few week :)

I'm gong to have them do the disc brake conversion on my fiver when they come through Florida next February.

Just did ours on Tuesday past.......HUGH difference and will never be without them. Performance Trailer braking did them for me right at my site. we were able to stay in the rig while it was being done. VERY pleasant experience and what a pleasure not only to deal with them but in the stopping power!!!!!!

It is hard to take pics that really show much. I placed the pump at the front of the street side compartment and ran the main line along the bottom of the I beam, but just inboard. I used existing screws that secured the underbelly fabric and made hose clamps to hold the line. Much of the main line is next to the steel propane line and the crossover line is also protected by a steel propane crossover line. I only drilled one hole in the frame where a Tee had to be located, otherwise I used existing screws.

I've seen other installs where the lines are attached to the side of the I beam with all new screws. Seems like more work and maybe more risk of damage from a blowout.

I'm ready to tackle this job myself, I have never liked the brakes on my new trailer since day one. Yes, I have adjusted them with no change.

I did mine right after we took delivery of our new Montana. I think this is one of the things you will have a hard time finding someone say "I wish I had kept my drum brakes".

As I told one dealer - saying that disks are N/A on a fifth is a deal breaker for me - My current rig has them, I'll never go back to drum brakes.
