Dishwashers

Does anyone have any experience with the portable/countertop dishwashers in their RV?

Don't want to give up the space, I see washing dishes as one of the pleasures of being in the 5er.
  • I have not experience with this unit, but do know I would not want to take up space with the dish washer. We need all the storage we can get. We use paper plates and plastic utensils. All we have to wash is pans, cooking spoons, and coffee cups. Works great that way.
  • I'm curious about this, too. Saw several units with drawer dishwashers (takes up about as much space as a pot drawer) the RV show last week.
  • The DW would love to have one, luckily was not an option on our new fiver. We use paper plates for most meals so I don't see the reason for one. Just waiting for her to come home from Home Depot with a smile saying look what I bought for the fiver. She already said one would fit nicely in the island. Happy camping
  • Yes, and we loved it. We had a Vesta countertop model for several years. At the time we had the washer/dryer closet in the kitchen and the dishwasher sat on top of the washer. It had it's own water heater and cleaned well. I would definitely love to have another one.
  • We used a counter top unit for about 1 1/2, in our 5th wheel and loved it. Later, I did install the counter top unit in our 5th wheel. The oven "bit the dust", so we bought a three burn stove top, installing the dishwasher where the oven was. We lost one "useless cranny nook" below the old oven, worked great. The next 5th wheel we bought, we ordered without the oven, just the burner top, also ordered it with a convection oven. Then installed an 18" Frigidaire floor model, love it, as it has a lot more space. We are full time, but even if we were not, when you go on a family vacation or trip, it is a time for everyone to have fun, not someone to stand and wash dishes, even if it is "just" pans, and baking dish's, etc. Plus your not filling up land fills with plastic (that takes hundred's of years to dissolve, if they ever will) and paper stuff. Just both of our options!

Hope this helps and God bless,
    Mike and Judy
  • This old model mobile, not counter top still works every now and then.
    Frank.

We don't use disposable anything for eating, Corelle plates real silverware. Dish washing takes about 10 minutes. I just don't want to give up the counter space. :B

In reality just don't see the need.
