Distance between truck bumper and 5th wheel? Anderson Hitch

I just installed an Anderson Ultimate 5th wheel rail mount hitch. Both the hitch and hitch pin converter are both in the forward position which puts ball about 48" behind truck cab. Reese rails call...

First 5er we had had less than a foot between the truck bumper and the front of the 5er. We needed to turn around in a cul-de-sac when we bought it.never touched the bumper.
