Thanks for the replies. I contacted Anderson CS and they were very helpful. Yes, the Ultimate 5th wheel hitch rail version can be rotated 180 degrees which sets the gooseneck back towards the tailgate. Thwe way the hitcvh works is the hitch gooseneck ball if off set from center. When it is rotated it is either 6" in from of axle or 3" behind axle.
My concern was the 3" back of axle. I thought weight was placed directly below gooseneck ball...not the case per Anderson....Anderson CS stated the design of the hitch, pyramid tube design, spreads the load to all 4 points of where it connects to the bed rails.
So, behind the axle 3" or so is part of the design and is safe to do do. Nice system and design with these options.
