The design of the FW front is more important than the brand of truck. Most newer FWs are designed to be pulled by a short bed (6 1/2 ft). In my earlier Ford the hitch was 40 1/2 inches behind the cab, and worked well with my other FW. The hitch in my 13 Ford is back 41"s from the cab. I have good clearance with my new FW. My B&W is mounted just ahead of the axle. No slider necessary with either of my rigs.
