That's hogwash. You can get a TT to tow well and I understand the whizz bang hitches if you want to spend $2k+, but the reality of the hitch point over the axle and heavier pin with the fiver is what it is.
I had an Equalizer 4 point hitch. I think it was around $800. Less expensive than the Reese sitting in the bed of my truck right now.
I guess my point was, if the OP finds a TT that he really loves and its his favorite choice, I think it would be a mistake to not get it because he thinks he has to get a 5er to enjoy his towing experience. Most WD hitches are not set up correctly and that certainly effects handling. But once I got my Equalizer set up like it was supposed to be on my last TT, it was outstanding. I'd compare it to any 5er tow any day of the week.
