Doh!
I managed to cut the lead cord to my 12v air compressor without marking the +/- sides. If I crosswire it, will I damage the compressor? Make it run backward? Suggestions? Thanks.

Most of your compressors are either diaphragm or piston pumps with reed valves. I doubt that you can tell if the motor is running backwards. The brushes for the motor may be set from running a particular direction, but other than that it may not matter.
