I towed doubles with my current 16k Reese (14200 lb total). However for a 3/4 ton truck I would move up to a 18k or 20k hitch. There are approx 5 or so very popular lightweight rv style hitches for pulling rv trailers.
The F250 is good for up to 13k-14k gross weight trailer before running out of its 6340 rawr capacity ......so you don't need a 24k hitch unless your planning on a one ton DRW truck down the road.
Your short bed F250 may require a manual or auto sliding hitch. However the newer trailers have the rounded/notched front corners which eliminate the need for a slider.
The Andersen or the PullRite Superlite systems is a alternative to conventional style 5th wheel hitch. Check their websites for tech input and questions.
