I double tow my boat from AZ to the NW each summer. I have taken several routes through NV, NM,CO,MT,ID,CA but I can't double in OR where spend 3-4 months fishing. That means after I get to Oregon I make two trips every where that I want to have the boat! I kept track of the extra mile a couple years ago and I think it tallied up to 1,200 total. That is a lot of fuel but, I fished about 45 days and got a heck of a lot of enjoyment out of having my own boat. The first year we retired and spent time in Oregon, I did not take the boat, I rented a boat a couple times at $130 a day if memory serves me, and it was a junker with no electronics or anything. As long as I am able I will continue to double tow where I can legally and where I can't, well, I make two trips!
