NO - it's (only) called a triple tow in some states, or by some individuals who like the term - and figure it should apply for all 50 states.
CA makes it simple:
You may only tow
one vehicle behind your tow vehicle with a non-commercial class A, B, or C Driver's License.
(Pg 29 of the RV handbook)
No double or triple tow terms involved.
With a
Commercial Class A Driver's License - and a doubles endorsement, you may tow
two vehicles behind (at least) a one ton truck - with length restrictions, etc.
Meet the req's - and you can call it a "double tow", "triple tow", "pulling doubles" - or whatever rings your chimes..:R
