I need to update my signature but my brand new Keystone ultra lite 33 foot 5ver is getting ready for its maiden voyage.Question my TTrailer has a large drain valve and my new Keystone has a valve and very small drain , its about the size of a pencil coming out and its been a hour and i'm only down I quarter.am I missing something or why would they make it so small. inch pipe to a valve and then reduced to "pee stream".

Not sure "why" but I know my rig has similar small drain valve. Fortunately I only drain the FW tank when I winterize and after I sanitize in the spring.

Not sure why such a small drain size but opening a faucet or fresh water gravity fill if you have one may speed up the flow.

They must have a reason, but I don't know what it is. My drain hose, hanging out the bottom, looks to be about 5/8 hose, but has a reducer just inside the end, with cap removed, to make a pencil size stream.I have a 60 gal fresh, and It seems to take at least 3 hours plus, to drain it.Jerry

My fresh water tank drain is 1/2" PEX with valve.....then reducer.So I got rid of reducer. Remove the reduced size pipe or change out to larger valve.It's your RV......Modify as needed to suit your needs

A valve that size really can't be used for much more than that. You sure there's not a larger valve, say about 1.5-2"?Lyle

You sure that's not the low-point drain, used for winterizing? A valve that size really can't be used for much more than that. You sure there's not a larger valve, say about 1.5-2"?

If your gray tank is empty just turn on your pump and all the faucets that should empty it in short order.

Drain hose for my Silverback is the same as the OP's. Don't have a clue as to why, but it doesn't bother me. Yea it takes awhile to drain, but outside of sanitizing it in the spring, the tank only gets used 1x a year.

That's just crazy. Ours is a 1-1/2" ABS pipe with a gate valve like the grey tank. Empties out in a few short minutes. rockin'

same on our alpenlite. Pull the handle and get out of the way or get wet if you are on a hard surface.

Good thinking, but I don't think it will help. The same vent line that allows air to escape while filling the tank, will allow air back into the tank while it is draining. Same effect as opening a faucet as you suggested.
