Why do you believe an F450 will do the job but not the F350? F450's specs listed the payload less than the F350.
my bad, I just looked at the numbers on Ford.com and it seems that the GAWR is actually higher on the F350 than F450 - seems odd to me?

7180 lbs. (F-350 SRW)
9650 lbs. (F-350 DRW)
9100 lbs. (F-450)
not sure on the new 350's, but the 450 my brother has (2008), its got like a commercial rear end, very heavy looking. With that, it may also have beefier brakes etc, to to weigh more to take away from the payload.
Did it look similar to this? When you order the HO Cummins and the Aisin transmission you get the heavier rear end with it.

Not sure on the 450 pick up version but I know the 550 rear end makes your picture look like a tundra rear end.
