I took the tour of both Excel and DRV last year. Some nice differences on both of them and overall pretty good workmanship. I did see one wall being built at Excel that had a split stud in the wall. I have built houses and I would never have put that in a house I was building and was surprised that Excel did. I prefer the aluminum studs instead of wood but that is mostly a personal choice. Both are OK. DRV uses a heavier frame than Excel i.e. DRV has a 15" boxed tubing frame and Excel has a 10" boxed tubing frame but the sidewalls of the tubes are different thicknesses. DRV uses 11 gauge (about 1/8") and Excel uses 1/4". I was more impressed with the DRV. It's worth taking tours of the plants before you spend a lot of money on a camper. It does appear that customer service is a bit better at Excel and the president is often on the Excel forum answering questions.
