dumb drivers

I am thinking that some Utah drivers leave their brains in the garage before driving.
I was hauling my fifth wheel to Bear Lake last Saturday going down Laketown Canyon at the 7% section at the recommend speed of 40.
Double yellow center line, sharp blind curve and some idiot decides to pass.
Thank goodness no one was coming in the other direction.
At few minutes later and they had a sections allowing passing.
Oh well!
Attempting to thin out the gene pool.
  • That's not a Utah problem, it's a human error problem. There's always the new, young, inexperienced driver, drugs, alcohol and you can add in the just plan stupid drivers.
Expect the unexpected. Drive defensively, bad drivers will always be out there.

  • I had that near Globe, AZ. a few years back. Some dude in a pickup truck pulling a flatbed trailer passed me, we were coming right on the curve and had a school bus coming from the opposite way. I slowed down as fast as possible. As soon as the dude saw the school bus he pulled in on me and on he went.

GoPro on the dash, then post on YouTube, making sure there's a good still of their license plate. Maybe a copy to the local LEO's for good measure. Gives you something to do in the evening instead of watching TV. :-)

  • Unfortunately, you are correct.
They have the cloak of invincibility in full view.
  • The problem with thinning out the gene pool is that they seem to want to take us along with them.
  • I've seen this a lot in the mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee. The unfortunate thing is when they hit an innocent person coming the other way... their "gene pool" didn't need "thinning out."
