Equa-Flex or Center Point? Center Point is $800+ More

First, hope you are having a safe and relaxing Holiday Weekend.

Looking to upgrade the suspension on the trailer. Plan to add shocks and either Equa-flex or Center Point Air Suspension. Was curious to get you all's thoughts on the added benefit of Center Point air Suspension over Equa-Flex.

Is it worth an $800 premium over Equa-Flex?

I have researched lots and have read several "knowledgeable" folks saying that Equa-Flex gives 80% to 85% the improvement of Center Point. If true, seems like the added cost and complexity of centerpoint may not be worth it.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and inputs.
  • I would like to add a comment about the center point that we installed years ago like maybe 2003 but it was in the beginning of the product. We had out air hitch so that made the alpenlite float and because of it I really could not feel any difference. Not disappointed but like most air products.

  • My first thoughts would be how much do you actually haul your 5er plus how much does it weigh, how long is it, also, at the age of the unit, is it economically justifiable. The Equa Flex will probably suffice for most folks needs while the air suspension may be great for a full timer with a long, heavy, all season 5er that likes to move often. We have the MORryde version of the Equa Flex and it does a fairly good job though probably not as good as if it had the air suspension - but then, I did the math noted above..... :C
  • My FW came with the Equa-Flex, so can't compare to not having it on current FW. That being said, the rubber bumpers of the Eq Fx have to make some difference. It just does not seem that noticeable, comparing to previous FW, that did not have it.
