Before you purchase a warranty read and then re-read the fine print. These warranties are extremely profitable which means highly negotiable.
Personally I would self insure, as I do now. Take that $2500 and put it into a bank account for future repairs, even add an additional $100 each month. In 72 months if you don't use the money you'll have $10000 in the bank. If you pay for a warranty and never used it you're out all that money and the warranty company made even more money.
