I replaced my aluminum fold out steps for two reasons.
1st they were constantly squeaky. No matter how much or what type of lube I used the squeaking eventually came back.
They also were too flexy when trying to be quiet in the early morning while the wife was still sleeping.
Solid steps are dead silent and have zero bounce or flex.
