Hello everyone I'm new to the toy hauler scene and any input would be appreciated. I purchased a 08 extreme warrior mega lite 25st. Love the trailer and all the amenities. Only problem is after my impulse buy I found out the the cargo capacity is 800lbs once loaded with fresh water. I'm looking at buying a xp41000 and that would put me way over the cargo capacity. I have searched online for months on beefing up the frame to be able to add more weight and haven't been able to find anything. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Is this a lost cause and should i take the loss on this trailer I financed?

Thanks downtheroad it's been hard trying to find any specs on this trailer. But there's a sticker inside the trailer Trailer that has everything broken down. I've heard of people reinforcing frames on Weekend warriors due to wall sagging and tounge issues. But I can't seem to find anyone doing frame work to achieve more cargo capacity

Thanks Y-Guy, the trailer is made by extreme rv I'm not sure if that's the same company as extreme warrior but there logo is different and when I explor there web page the trailer models from 2008 are completely different.

Your RV shop is mistaken about the 4400 lb. axles. They are readily available.

Do you need to carry all the water?

I go light on water and then can add more stuff. "stuff" weighs more than I guessed.

I also went to the truck scales before making a cross country journey... Best of luck.

I replaced all tires with e rated tires. The spec on the trailer says the axles are rated at 4400lb when I called the rv shop they said there dosent exisist axles at that rating. I found a shop close to me that said they can beef up the frame and axles to achieve a higher cargo weight. Just wondering if anyone had seen this done before. I'm worried about going down the free way and having a catastrophic failure and hurting someone

Alright guys I called extreme warrior and they pretty much told me that the cargo capacity on the sticker is the max weight and they advise not to exceed it or modify the frame. I also contacted so cal rv Dr and they said it was in heard of to modify the frame to achieve a higher cargo capacity.

So you should have about 2600lb load capacity left with you water tank full. If you have 6 lug wheels you might consider upgrading to 16" wheels and tires, allowing you to have choices for e-rated tires, also check your shackles for loose or worn bushings and then enjoy camping!

Have you run it across a scale when you are loaded and trip ready? (W/O the ATV)

Agree with nayther.
It isn't the frame and tongue that is totally the issue, tires, axles, brake size etc.
All of that goes into the GVWR calculation.
If memory serves, the tires that come on those trailers are like a C rated ST tire? Not enough.

I applaud you for trying to do the right thing to be within weight ratings, but trying to do that can get expensive.
I.E., bigger trailer could mean bigger truck. :)

Limiting factor is probably the axle rating. Two axles at 5k each plus tongue weight? Just a thought.
