EZPass and SunPass

No, just register the various combinations you have..just the PU and the PU and the 5er.

What I did was this..

I went onto my Sun pass page and plugged in all my info for BOTH the Truck, and the Fifth Wheel...

I then added funds without auto pay, and starting driving..

If I remember correctly, ( it's been a few years) When I purchased my sun pass, I got the one he covers a TV and trailer..

You DO NOT need a separate transponder for your fifth wheel....

my Illinois and Florida pass only have you enter the towed vehicle on their website. When you go through the pass lane it figures you are towing by the axle count and charges you accordingly.

I have two EZ Passes, one for towing and one for solo, because in the Western part of New York State they don't have the axle counters to charge correctly.
Our Sun Pass is good for either way, towing or solo.

Interesting. I'll had to check my statement. We went through west New York last month pulling the fifth wheel.

I originally only had one and would go in and change my info for towing or not, then they changed the system and took away the ability to change class on the fly. So when I called I was told I needed two, a small white one for Solo and a larger Blue one when towing.

I've got three tags,
2 axels - truck only
3 axels - truck and single axle
4 axels - truck and dual axle

That's what they told me I needed when I called EZ-PASS!

Interesting. I picked up my EZ Pass transponder several years ago in Indiana (called I-Pass there), and have only ever had the one which goes with us in either the car or truck, whether towing or not. We've used it in just about every state in the east, northeast, and central U.S. and have never had a problem. Maybe ignorance is indeed, bliss. ??
