F250/MONTANA 5ER

We pull a 2006 Keystone Montana 3400RL with a 2003 F250 7.3L D 4WD LB Lariat. Had to add airbags to level out the load. Pulls the 5th wheel as well as a 2003 F350 with SRW. Have made six round trips AZ to WA and all has worked out well. Would I recommend this configuration to others?? NO ..... but we purchased the truck first to haul an equipment trailer using the Receiver hitch. Had we thought we might haul a 5th wheel we would have purchased a 2003 F350 SRW to get more payload. Other than that we really have no regrets. I don't know how much the 1997 F250 7.3L has in the way of reduced towing capacity vs the 2003 F250 7.3L but that needs to be considered. Adding a supplemental transmission cooler is advised and considered mandatory over the factory issued transmission cooler.
