Schaefer heard COE on the south end of West Point Lake is slosest to I-85.
High Falls State Park is a good choice up I-75. They have a upper and lower campground. Bigger sites on the lower part. Is or was a KOA right off exit 222 Jodeco Rd. Is that the correct exit number? It was directly beside I-75 but many years since I have been in that area. It may be gone with all the development in that area.
What time of the day do you plan on coming up and passing through Atlanta. If continuing North the next day you may want to consider passing through Atlanta before stopping.

Just my thoughts. - If your coming up I-85 stop at on of the COE parks around LaGrange GA. on West Point lake. If north on I-75 High Falls SP, or Arrowhead Park on Lake Tobesofkee. There is nothing around Fayetteville, GA.
