Remember. One knob is the leveling knob. Set it wrong, and you will either have too much braking, or no braking. the other side is the gain. But you have to get the leveling knob right first. After you do. Don't touch it again. Use the gain to set the signal strength.
It will still be jerky. But that is just how Voyagers are. they do their job well. Just jerk.
