Fed up with my Tekonsha Voyager brake controller

This thing is extremely sensitive, I usually get either minimum braking or it throws me through the windshield. The adjusting dials are very sensitive. One tiny turn of either knob will give extreme b...

I went through two Voyagers over the years. They both just got weaker.
So the second one I took apart and found that the component they use to supply the current is actually only rated at 1.5 amps and through the use of a tiny heatsink, they are pushing the full magnet current through it.
No wonder it got weaker with use.
