Fed up with my Tekonsha Voyager brake controller

This thing is extremely sensitive, I usually get either minimum braking or it throws me through the windshield. The adjusting dials are very sensitive. One tiny turn of either knob will give extreme braking or none at all. Am I doing something wrong here?

  • Went from a Voyager to the P2. Night and day difference. Have heard the P3 is even better. Do yourself a favor, kick the Voyager to the curb. You won't be sorry.
  • The P-3 is a great brake controller I wish I could go back to that instead of the integrated one in the truck.
  • We have used our prodigy on 2 trucks since 2001 and feel it works for us.

some fellers are better carpenters than electrician's, kinda like me.

I had a P2 as well and it was terrific, no complaints at all. I now run a P3 and it's even better. :B
  • Mine was pretty similar until I got the Prodigy......night and day difference. In fact, on the maiden trip with the Prodigy, some guy pulled in front of me and spiked the brakes. Once I was stopped and opened my eyes, I was straight and didn't hit anyone. My truck now has a built in controller but I loved the Prodigy. I have heard good things about the P3 too
  • I had a P-2 and it was a POS. If you forgot to up the controller on the freeway, no brakes or if you forgot to turn them down in slow traffic it would send you thru the windshield.
