Fiberglass repair question...
The day before yesterday in Bakersfield I pulled our 5er into a horizontal sign arm while turning and punched a hole through the fiberglass exterior and pushed out a section of wallboard inside. One shop gave a quote of 3-4k for a complete restore. I am considering doing it myself...
Part of that consideration is that I have never repaired fiberglass. I feel confident that I could get the aluminum frame back in shape and the interior walboard. I am concerned because the fiberglass was punctured for about a foot horizontal and the hole goes right up to the rain gutter. How does one go about a repair like this? I'm assuming it is more involved than the "hole in my boat" youtube videos I have watched on fiberglass repair?
On a side note we were very lucky it didn't catch a window, the roof, or our slide. We were and still are enroute to the grand canyon from Northern California. Thanks in advance!
