I am looking to upgrade are old 92 Lance 24' 5th wheel to a good quality use hopefully or maybe a new unit.
1. Is the Travel Trailer & Fifth Wheel Comparison Guide worth the money? It cost around $89.95 for the printed book.
I am trying to education myself on making a good sound purchase this time around without getting taken to the cleaners. I think some people are laughing at me when I said/posted before; I hoping to found a used 5th wheel approximately 5 years old in order to avoid the big depreciation or losing 50% of the valve after the 5th year. I thought a good maximum budget would be a low of $20,000 to as high as $40,000 which is pushing it for me. Hope to pull it with by 99 Dodge 250 cub cab 2X4 Cumming.
Maybe I should just go for it and buy a RedWood 5th wheel starting a $85,000. to $136,000. Then I could be called Boss Hog. I said son that was joke, just a joke. Maybe some great day if and when I retire. I just don't think there is enough pop cans along the roads for me to gather up right now!
Thanks to everyone

I bought the book and used it as one piece of the research puzzle. We spent 18 months looking for the "perfect" 3 to 4 year old used 5th wheel, and traveled some good distances to "go look". We never found the diamond in the rough but we had fun trying. It seemed that the private sellers paid too much for theirs initially and wanted too much used, or the used units at the dealers were just not in the condition we could accept. After giving it the college try, we decided that a new one with everything we wanted was just one factory order away.
Good luck and have fun shopping.
