Wow great responses and pics guys. Some of you have some killer storage. I wish I had room for a pull thru but I don't. I checked with Mueller steel blds and they said 14K for a prefab building. Now I need to get concrete prices for a 6in thick slab. Not sure how to go about getting it erected. I can do elec and insulation myself.

Mine is 42 x 64 with a 28 x 40 shop. The 30 ft 5ver and Crew long bed have plenty of room all around. It has 14 ft sides, but I have sliding shed doors instead of garage doors, which require less head room. It is a drive through, with the biggest door 22 ft wide. Lots of room for boat, 4 wheeler etc plus 4 ft wide racks for lumber.

The one on the right side is 16x40 with a 14' door. It is bare bones with gravel pad no electric and IIRC cost ~$15k 6 years ago. It's just big enough for the slides to extend.

Remember when talking door height to understand the difference between door height nad finished opening height from finished floor.

Concrete is going to crack, control the crack with expansion joints.

Concrete finish, real smooth, easy to clean,especially cleaning up spilled oil, but could be slippery when wet.

I have a pole barn for my toys. You will need a 14' door.

My building is 24' wide x 52' long. I am just barely able to keep my truck hooked up to my 5er and close the door if I want to. If I had to do it again, I would do a little wider.

When I built mine 4 years ago it was less expensive to do wood than steel, and IMO it fits in better in my neighborhood.

Some advice. As others said, build as big as you can, bigger than you think you will need. You will never say you have too much space. Put more steel than you think you need into the concrete. You don't want it to crack. The more natural light you have the better. Skylights, big windows, and lots of them will make you happy. Electric outlets every 8'. Don't forget the outlets and lights on the outside of the building as well.

If you are going to do it yourself, you can probably get by for $20K or less. Get a quote from Mueller Steel Buildings for one of their prefab kits. I built a 30'x40' metal building on some land I own 12 yrs ago using one of those. Built it for a tractor and other implements, not for an RV. Had help putting up the frame and the roof panels. Rest I did alone, including insulation. Pretty easy, but time consuming. Kit was just over $10K and concrete slab about $6.5K with extra aprons. That included extras such as 2' overhang all around, steeper pitch, gutters, insulation, extra windows and doors. Would be more of course now.
If you intend to have it built by a contractor, expect $35-40K or more.
I would definitely go with a 14' high x at least 12' wide or more door as some 5ers are 13' tall or more and you want plenty of side room for maneuvering in/out.
If I were to do it again, I would go with conventional garage type doors rather than the standard corrugated roll up type doors. They do not seal well at all and cannot be insulated. They just ride in tracks up each side. High winds blow dirt/leaves in around the sides/bottoms.

We have been looking at doing the same thing. Quotes we have been given range from 35k to 43k. We want a 30x40 metal building/shop with RV slip on the side under awning and closed on 3 sides.

Pull thru for sure if you have the room. Make it big enough for you to be able to access all sides and front and rear for maintenance. Don't forget the slide outs.

You will always wish you had made it bigger, regardless of how big you make it. Mine would be pull through if I had the room.

I do believe if I were about to spring for this expense, I would hook up trailer on a level surface, measure from highest point on trailer (usually front air if you have it), add at least 6" for the door. YMMV
