When you say you reset it with every tank so that means possibly mixed driving trailer and no trailer? I know I get on average 12 mpg towing 10,500# at 65 based on the trip computer with my Duramax. I reset mine when whenever I am hitched up and only use those miles in the trip computers calculations. I never hand calculate other than quick fuzzy math in my head and it's close enough.
