We've has posters before that had measured from the center of the pumpkin instead of the center of the wheel/axle.
Diesel truck owners just muddy the thread topic of unloading the trucks front axle. Light weight gas engines lift easier than the very heavy diesel. Apples vs oranges.
I would get the hitch makers installation instructions and get back with the installer and work with him.
