fifth wheel hitch installed 4 inches back

WOW -- Long thread --- Bottom line --- What's been done? Have you contacted the hitch maker for EXACT measurement criteria? My concer as some others is having too much weight come off the front axle and causing very dangerous steering or braking issues. When the maunfacture refers to the center-line of the axle, that is just what it is! A line drawn from the center of the axle vertically thru the bed of the truck. The hicth should be slightly ahead of this center-line. Can you tell if this "Mechanic" drilled extra holes in the frame? As far as I know, all these installation kits are desgined for "NO DRILL" installs. Drilling a frame in the wrong place could cause SERIOUS weakening of said frame.
