Looks like another hijack by the usual B&W suspects so I'll repost the OP's question about his 16K Husky although he hasn't came back yet.
Looking at Husky's website shows a 16K with a wrap around jaw....and it talks about a sliding bar. Usually the sliding bar closes just enough to keep the wrap around jaw from opening.
Husky website shows a green "button" that says Quote;
""Green indicates jaw in closed position. Visible indicator pin on 16K S verifies king pin is engaged"".
I can see where a new person with little experience with 5th wheel hitch procedures would think he was "hooked" simply because the green button was showing. However experience tells us the jaws may or may not be closed around the pin and as others have said "its a high pin" with the pin sitting on top of the jaw.
If I was the OP I would do the tug test and then make a good visual to make sure the pins flange is below the jaws as it should be.
This can happen with LTL or OTR pros and even the SAF-Holland hitch heads. I've had it happen and seen it happen to others.
Hopefully he will come back with any findings that can help other Husky owners with that style 16k hitch jaws.
