I have both locked. Heard of tailgates going missing and have seen hitches taken in respectable CGs in the middle of the night.
I guess one gets use to the sound of a truck going by ocassionally at night so you don't look out to see if they slowed down to pick someone up as they drive by your rig.:h
I also have a lock that fits over the pin on the trailer for when I boondock and go to the store etc.;)
